seen: 2026-10-30, cube design (this website, the same first build), the violations page on a phone. selim: "you added application names under it, and actually what happens, you violated the design again, because … when we zoom in a piece, the next piece, it can be a group. and what happens here, that it's a grouping by the applications. we can say in the violations, underneath we can say apps … if the users want to navigate them by apps, they can zoom in into that box, and they will see that."
picture: the same as violation 7: each tile carried a second line (proposed, fixed) and the row under the arrows named the apps.
breaks: 1 (no axis is the master), 2 (the cube is the viewfinder: one look at a time), 5 (no base case), 16 (every piece has the same shape).
why it feels wrong: a line under every tile is a column of a table drawn inside the tiles: it shows a second grouping on top of the first, so one look carried two kinds at once and made one of them the caption of every piece. a grouping is not a label on the pieces; it is a piece of the cube that opens into its own cube.
how it could follow: the tiles say only what the piece is. apps and what happened to it are pieces of the violations cube, opened by zooming in (as in violation 7). close up, a violation still shows its own colours on each kind, because close up a value is where the journey ends (17).
status: fixed in cube-design#3 (merged 2026-10-30).
